For everyone who has been following my website, you’ll notice that the whole layout of the blog has changed. That’s because in the year that I’ve been posting on here, many things have changed. My education, writing style, and the addition of a newborn baby, Mr. Logan. I’ve had endless iterations of Galactic Gallagher, and I was able to finally settle on one that I started writing about a month ago. While I know that many more revisions are ahead of me, you can experience the fiction in real-time, here. I also have a Patreon. I post most of my unpublished work over there.
That being said, my life is pretty intense right now, and I am not writing as much as I want to; however, it’s only a season, and I’ll be back on track in no time. I know that I’m not the only one struggling right now; in my eyes, so much is happening, and remembering to take breaks from the crazy onslaught of the news cycle is critical for a healthy mind. Here are a few reminders that you might have forgotten about, lord knows I have. I can’t take credit for these reminders. They come from the great Tracy Crow, my professor.
- Listen to your body.
- Rest when able.
- Stay hydrated.
- Ground yourself by walking barefoot outside for a few minutes.
- Meditate, even if just for five minutes.
- Breathe deeply.
- Listen to music at 432hz.
- Allow a moment to consider gratefulness.
I will be making it a point to post more and let everyone follow where I am in the writing process. Most of my time, currently, is allocated to child-rearing, taking care of my mom, my MFA program, and editorial work. All of my writing time is essentially me stealing from my sleep. In truth, I always find a way, which always surprises and impresses me.
Stay safe out there, everyone.
🙂
