Hello There!
I am so happy you’ve found my little corner of the internet. If you don’t know who I am, my name is Trevor Wells. I am a teacher, writer, book editor, and, in general, a creative person who is passionate about storytelling. I like to incorporate character-driven narratives into my stories. I also have a passion for helping other writers find their own voice, and to create works of publishable quality.
The Purpose of This Blog
So, why read this blog, and why does it matter? Firstly, I believe myself to be utterly hilarious—perhaps I’m a little biased; however, if you gain nothing from my perspective and insights, I hope that you smile at least once while reading my blog. The main focus is for me to have a creative outlet that brings me joy (I just LOVE writing). The other primary goal is to give more resources to writers and answer questions about the craft of writing. I also intend to write about my personal journey within the publishing industry (at least what I can share) and perhaps give advice to those who seek it. While I am knowledgeable, I do not pretend to know it all, nor would I want to. After all, even though I wish I was a robot, I will confidently tell you, dear reader, I am no robot.
My Books
Because I love writing web serials (among other forms of writing), I’ll also share what I am working on and, of course, tell you where those stories are. Currently, I am working on a trilogy called Galactic Gallagher. Funny enough, this story first manifested in my screenwriting class. I wrote around sixty pages of a short screenplay—the pitch—Death Race meets F-Zero; blended with a touch of Mario Kart. However, the story did not start off that way (this is my superpower as a discovery writer, the ability to change a story quickly and with not much thought). My original story consisted of a Viking taking on a series of dungeon-based floors called “Saucers” in a gameshow-like dystopian setting.

However, as I worked on my story, fate would change the direction of my story; in the form of my wife introducing and concurrently binging the whole Death Race series with me (even the terrible ones—but you’ll have to find out which ones those are for yourselves). Anyway, back to my screenwriting class. After that fateful weekend, I started writing a lot of action scenes that dealt with a Viking (Gallagher) partaking in a game called Dungeon Race. I must confess, I inadvertently had some influence from Wreck-It Ralph. Basically, the racing elements in the Candy Kingdom, but with the silliness of a bunch of fantasy-like characters racing around in antigravity cars.
I wrote around thirty pages of the screenplay during the later part of the weekend (not only did I pass my class requirements with flying colors, but I had a detailed outline for my next story, wow, thanks school). The next thirty pages of the screenplay were a breeze. This told me that I truly wanted to pursue this as a novel (what a novel idea). And so, that takes us to—NOW—I’m writing the trilogy for the series, and perhaps I should change the book cover to something that matches the theme and tone of the series. The more I think of it, the more I believe this to be true.
Thanks for following my tangent this far! I am truly happy that you have visited my blog, and I am even happier that you are on this journey with me.
More information forthcoming!
